Dan loved his visit to the French Market today. It's an annual event that takes place in a pretty corner of Godmanchester, by the Chinese Bridge. The stall holders are very good to Dan, giving him lots of free samples. He loved the dried fruit, biscuits and honey. In the picture he is buying a tub of tartuffle which we ate beside the river. We also bought a few treats for later, including a rope of really pungent smoked garlic. Of course, it reminded us of Paris, except for the weather.
This year we didn't buy any cheese or sausage, otherwise I would have been filling my face right now instead of writing this. I'm actually multi-tasking by cooking lasagna, writing and listening to Joni Mitchell. Dan is making a painting with Bridget and Nina while Hanna is working in the garden. It's so nice to have light in the evenings (it's almost 6.00 pm) and be able to get a few things done.
