Strictly Come Dancing!

Currently, the best reality TV sensation in the UK is a show that teams up professional dancers with celebrities who don't really dance. The couples have to do a different ballroom dance each week, in front of judges, and the public gets to vote. Normally this would not be of any interest to us as we don't watch much TV; we have no idea who these celebrities are, nor do we care very much.

But this is different because we have a connection. Richard, who takes Dan to school each day, has his own taxi business, mostly doing airport runs, but he also acts as a chauffeur sometimes. One of his regular clients is a local actor called Ricky Groves who is well known for starring in tv soap operas, such as East-Enders. Ricky is teamed up with a real dancer called Erin and they have stormed along, gaining more points each week. They may even win! It's really hard work; they put in at least 25 hours a week in training, usually at our local fitness centre.

Last Thursday, Richard arranged for a minibus load of children from Dan's school to attend a rehearsal and it was a big success. Dan came home able to Cha-cha!

If Ricky and Erin are still in the contest next week, the kids will go to the studio again, and get filmed for tv. Dan is really interested and seems to understand what it's all about.

IF YOU ARE IN THE UK, PLEASE VOTE FOR RICKY AND ERIN THIS WEEK-END, SO DAN CAN GO TO THE STUDIO NEXT WEEK.
