We survived the earthquake!

01.00 on Tuesday morning we experienced the most severe earthquake for 25 years in the UK, centred in Lincolnshire, about 60 miles from us.

Dan had just woken and so Hanna and I were playing musical beds when the shake hit us. Quite rapid vibration continued for ten to twenty seconds. The sound was slightly behind the onset, but was similar to a double decker bus passing close to our house as speed. Hanna said she thought it sounded more like a helicopter and people on the radio said it sounded more like a train. Anyway, it was LOUD.

There was no dammage of note near us, but up in Lincolnshire there was a lot of dammage to roofs and walls. One person had their pelvis broken when a chimney fell through the roof.

As the days pass, I guess aftershocks are less likely.

It was avery British earthquake; nothing much happened but we wil talk about it for weeks.
