Today we visited an old stone manor house near Fotheringhay, Oundle. It's always a great place to visit but today they were holding a special day for children with "living history" people acting as archers, a cook, an armourer and an apothecary. Dan's favourite was the apothecary who was very like Merlin. He did some experiments with powders and potions which Dan really loved. The children had to grind the various ingredients. Dan also ground his own flour and made his own bread. He was supposed to do some archery, but got attacked by a sheep on the way and ran back to the manor house.
