News from Susy

Susy has been on an extended road trip in the American West, especially Colorado. For years, the name Torrey Canyon has struck dread into the hearts of all environmentalists because the ship of that name ran onto rocks, spilling its cargo of oil into the sea off Alaska sand destroying much of the local wildlife, leaving areas that would be derelict for years to come.

Susy has been visiting the settlement of Torrey, the canyon, and nearby Capitol Reef. It's really beautiful. She phoned us about it all on Saturday morning, and I had the task of identifying birds and plants from the pictures. We must all go there sometime.

Back in Maine, Susy has settled into her new job and is having a ball.
