Easter week-end

I cleaned the french windows today. I did such a good job that I didn't see that the door was shut when I walked through it. My nose will heal......in time.

Nick and Sarah are here for the week-end but they are both poorly. In fact, we all have colds. Katy and Joost were coming from Amsterdam, but Joost is ill so they stayed in Holland. Anyway, travel is chaotic this week-end, made worse by heavy snow on Easter Sunday.

Of course Dan loves the snow. He and I were the first up, and we had a snow man built by breakfast time. As he started to melt, the snow-man tilted more and more to the right, until lunch-time when his head fell off.

Yesterday, Hanna and I went to Stamford (about half an hour's drive to the north of us, just over the border in Lincolnshire). Stamford is an attractive, old, unspoilt, stone-built market town on the Great North Road. It has a lot of local shops that sell specialist goodies. We had a very pleasant couple of hours browsing around. It's such a shame we couldn't take our invalid-visitors along.
