A real holiday

We took a long week-end off at Centre Parcs. Nick and Sarah came along as well to recuperate after their virus attack. Gary and Bridget came in for two days to help out, giving us all a real holiday. Of course, no-one enjoyed it more than Dan who is now officially an adrenaline junkie. He loves sliding down the rapids which run outdoors down a complex series of pools and chutes, terminating in a big indoor pool with a heavy undertow. "Who cares? I want more!" Dan also learned to float on his back unaided, so he is on the cusp of swimming properly. He was thoroughly marinaded for most of four days.

We need to do this more often!

We cooked a barbecue on the first night, then the weather changed and we had a few wintery showers. Mostly we ate indoors, but we also went to the Dutch-style pancake house twice. Dan's favourite is the big breakfast pancake, with ketchup, brown sauce and maple syrup.

Because the weather wasn't that great we only did a couple of out-doorsy things like crazy golf and the adventure playground. However, Hanna and I went on a couple of good hikes. Hanna treated herself to a good pampering in the Aqua Sana.

It took a lot of effort to extract Dan from the hot tub on Monday evening, then some more effort to get him out of the sweet shop, so we arrived home after 6pm. Then Sarah, Nick and I drove to the Art College Hereford and I got home about midnight.
